away with apologies!!

yeeah! about that, a thousand apologies my friends.. soo ive been AWOL, so today in the morning, my boss asked me, do you still blog?? i was like, aaah, not in a months time i havent.. my heart sunk! but i knew the last couple of weeks has been rollercoster-ish. got a job yeah which i loooove... yes, been up  and down my feet hurt most of the time, so by the time i come back home am worn out and sleepy...BUUUUUT... i am soo happy that i manage to do TAEBO despite hecktiness.


nhu, ive cut down most of my snacks to water, loads of it, feels great, ive given up sugar, WOLOLO! Its hard been suplementing with a teaspoonful of honey but am getting used to no sugar. though sugar craves come nd its easy to binge, so i eat a banana nd load up on water!!!

i still do abs time with TONY HORTON, after every taebo...i havent weighed myself, im scared i might find out that am stuck. though the waist and the tummy measurements are gettings smaller, yes this thing works, am looking great, and look forward to my new job. exitos!! nhu, as my journey towards a fitter me nd healthier me, all i can say is am greatful nd patient to see what God has in store for me..

BEFORE I FORGET!! ALLAR! the Stanchart marathon is this comming Sunday, yes, and ive never done anything like running 10 kms, but i registered, got the kit nd am soo looking foward to challenging myself! AAAAND!!! November is here, well, near.. so this week God-willing am getting my UNASHAMED TICKETS!!! VIP LIST on them!! and thanks to fullhousedeejays for the invite for the CYPHER! yeah... #teamunashamed..

preparing for a marathon, where do i start?

gooooood afternoon fellow bloggers? am sooo over the moon that ill participate in a marathon!! the Stanchart marathon is on on the 23rd of this month and ill keep my word on this one and run for a good cause! yeah, its 42kms and Sally and I are doing dis!
so where do i start, should i start jogging, sprinting, or walking. considering av done great cardio work and strength training, what is required of me?? so questions, questions, questions!! 

nhu, ION, am looking forward to see how this whole diet plan workout, am looking to incorporate loads of greens and water , as for carbohydrates nd proteins am still eying potions!
so if anyone has ideas as where i should start with the marathon and other related topics, al be happy to hear from you..

weigh in: moment of truth!

so today i had to know my current weight, the last time i had weighed in i was 70kgs, shockers yes, no? nway, i had come to accept that i'm a big boned girl until i heard in the comedy MIKE and MOLLY, bones don't jiggle!! which is true!! though due to turns and topples of life i added weight from a constant 66kgs, when i never even exercised!

so after hunting down a weighing scale in town, i found out that one went for around 1,600 kshs, whhhat? i knw!! mum had promised me one if i found somewhere to buy. so am still looking for one, cheaper, that is.. 

back to today,as i was undoing my hair it came to me that we have a gym in our estate!! yeah, though i dont use it, it dawned to me that they might have a scale! so i went and shamelessly asked Walter, the trainer if i could weigh!! i was sooo traumatized the moment i laid my first foot on the scale, the stick ran to 76-80kgs!!! Good grief!! so i stepped out and asked him, is this thing working? he said, yeah, just balance your weight and youl see. so i did! 67KGS!! PHEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWW!!!! i nearly fainted! nway, 

i had set my ticker, that ka thing up there, to 66KGS hoping that as of today that would be my starting weight,  but all hope is not lost, 67KGS is not a bad thing...but i stilll want to loose a couple here and there.. am on a mission, nd ive seen girls whose are big boned and still working out and loosing those extra GZ. yeah ive been told its impossible, and cant be done but ive been doing it, even with those doubtful comments, nd looks.

any way.. so its official:as of, when is today? 6/10/2011 fat cat:
 weighs: 67kgs 
waist: 31''
hips: 40"
neck: 13"
arms: 12"

so as my next session start in 30 mns, im still looking for a good diet to complement my exercise! coz this girl can munch. i dont want to go overboard but im sure as i eat healthy ill be okay. so if any one has recipes and suggestions hook a sister up!!

FAT CAT MISERIES

oh my feet are killing me!!aaaarghh.. but soo worth it!! so, today i had promised my girl Joy i was going to take her shopping! so if u live in Nairobi nd u r a "vintage" shopper u r familiar with en route MUTHURWA-NGARA!!! yeeeeah baibie!!! so after morning laundry i decided to do F.B.C, then i go. two minutes into it KPLC decides its not going to happen, the disk got stuck so i decided to do CIRCIUT 2. two mins again, the lights are back i had 45 mns to go.. lucky enuf lights came, but kept coming and going but in 50 mns i was soo glad it was over!

since i live in the other end of the world, i had to call the bike guy, he was out of reach, ooh the mid day sun hit me with no remorse, by the time i got to the road, 30 mns later,  i was already drained nd hungry.. to top it all up, the Uhuru highway jam, kept me on the road for another 1 and 1/2 hrs!
when i got to town i was super hungry, then this guy decides to hit our mat at the round-about,i jumped out nd literary ran to the bus station. all av had today as lunch is: about 11/2ltres of water, 2 bananas, a passion fruit and a 1/4 cup of yogurt! super hungry!!

nhu, we got great stuff at very very fair prices, tho the unforgiving sun haunted us, we made it, barely, to Ngara, oh people if you have money, this is the time to shop, blazers r going for 150kshs and the most expensive it got was 400kshs! i knw right?
though i was purged to a near death, am greateful to God that ol went well..

yeah back on that donkey!! ION,am pstocked!!!

yess! theres a word like that!! either in my head or on google! so i took a 2 day break! yes and though it was weired i loved every minute of it, the free loading days comes once a month! so no i had to spend them , here i what i had out of the ordinary..... waiiit for it........ three pieces of a rum and raising chocklate! imagine frm a whole bar, that was my reat, and a piece of Spout chewing gum!! it was torturous!!

so i bought mum a bar of choku and waitill she opened them.. i was hoping that she didnt coz i know i caould go to town on those bad boys!! which i didnt, i kept going to and fro asking myself if they were worh another bite..this was after the first three.. i was like a mad man.. i was talking to myself, this was a test!! i opened the closet and pointed to them and said, " choklate, i knw u r there all purple and tempting, but today am making a choice, and i chose myself!!...."
am not kidding and the talk went on on till i talked myself from having another bite!! i dont want to knw if they are still there or not, i bid them fairwell

sooo my ptsoked part... my favourate artists have confirmed that they are coming to town, am broke but am soo sure am going, kwanza VIP tickets no jokes!! i feel like heaven is opening up nd we r headbagin' to it!! whaaaaat! and for me to sing my lungs out that nght, i need to be in shape, not vocal wise coz that i gave up along time ago.. if i make it there, oh i will take pics you bet!!

nhu, carb loading, thanks to my pal Joy i have a week supply of melons! am way half way have had, thats the word i should have used!! so am haviing a cup of sour youghurt, a glass of water, or three,, mostly three nd a slice of fruit, bananas, oranges avocados, they r in plenty nd a pineapple..

so between breakfast,(3 slices of bread, jam na half avocado), lunch, slice of starch (ugali/rice, vegies nd a fruit serving) and supper, ol i take is water large glases of water!! am always hungry, thats me soo i have to be super careful waht i have in between, thats where friuts come in..

progress, im getting realy good at ISO BIKE, yeah i can do 3 reps of 8ts!! i found a great guide from http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abexercises.htm
so this is how to do them..
lie face up on yo mat and place yo hands behind your head, lightly suportin it with yo fingers
bring knees into the chest and lift the shoulder blades off the floor without pulling on yo nek
rotate to the left, bringing the right elbow towards the left knees as you straighten the other leg
switch sides, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee.
continue alternating sides in a pedaling motion for 1-3 sets of 12-16 reps

oh its friiiday!!

thats what i kept saying to myself when the thot of giving up dashed thru my miiind!! i could barely get up, the weather was great, cooozy and had the telly going on!! whoooooooooop woop!! i dint feel like moving let alone work out!! "ive been working out since monday, si i let today flow under the bridge".. i kept thinking.. thirty more mins ..till work out time.. fifteen PAST workiing out!! are you serious now!!?

the this scene from the telly came up and the family was working out, that was it, i knew if i dint then tommorow nd the day after would be more difficult.. so i matched down, picked out my trainers and it was SOO ON!!

i dint feel like it, but had noo choice, started out well nd before i knew i was done with the bands now i was soo looking forward to try this abs exercise i found a trick on how to do it.. the ISO BIKE, oh ive been doing it since i got the hang of it but its a ripper!!

nway, i feel good, i dont knw if much has change within me but am glad that God has been faithful to me.. got a big smile, warm socks and the telly to myself.. so al enjoy the evening, not think about tommorows exercise, doubt much. but al be happy till them..

on a lazy day..

though today started off as a lazy day, must admit the thot of dozing in the middle of the day was really tempting. so i was all armed not to sleep but went on a quest to watch the only series series in the house i hadnt touched, "The Good Wife''. i ate ugali so u can imagine how hard it was not to sleep, nhu 2.30pm and i shrugged off, arrgh 30 mns to workout time, then it was three, 15 mns wongt hurt.. the next time i woke up nd 15 more had passed nd i had no sign of starting to workout.

i dragged my feet and one by one started dressing and organising myself, after the warm up all that was in my head was, im soo not doing this!! what? i knew i was heading for a downfall, i looked at the bands and said to myself, LETS DO THISS!

oh it was soo on, i did the first moves and after a while only 20 mns had gone by, 25 more, i thot. then i just shut my mind and really got into the workout, its realy lonely doing a workout alone, and you are the only one to decide whether you stick to it or not, nhu, i jumped up doing jumping jacks, sidekicks punches then the best part of the workout came when Mr. Blanks said, thats enuff of resistance training for the day!! HALLELUYAH!!

After 5 mns i was done but the monster was coming, 10mns trainer! oh Tony Horton, u couldnt tourture this girl.. today i was determined to do atleat 4/10 moves and with perfection!! crunches, golden gate, tick-tock kick, bicycle crunches everything!! i was in the zone! when i was done picked up the bands and it was biceps time, oh it was great, and like Tony says, "Something good had happened"

am glad i didnt listen to myself worries, and woked out, i feel soo great, like i can run a marathon, not today though, am good thank you.. it takes a little bit of your will nd determination..but the end results are the ahaa moments!! nd little by little u get better..

so here is the team, and me.. (oh dear.).

Today woke up feeling frumpy!! yeah, back cramps, evrythings, should i take meds or just leggo! im dreading workout today no lies... am on a laizy mode, but i hope the piriton effect will wear out before midday, i hope Sally is doing better on the other end...

nhu, av been tryng to upload my "team" photos but the network problems, well, dont we all have.. but nw i have them.. so hear goes, my worn out trainers, modified resistance bands, taebo fat burning cardio disk and the ten mins trainer DVDs..



the trainers reeeeaaly need a break, but until i get new ones, they will serve their pupose..
bands from Tuskys: ksh 800 modified for both workout programs.
tae bo: F.B.C Ksh: 150 from tao
10 min trainer: 50bob from Bennas' place near bata nrb sports hse..


so after about 80 days of tae bo (not continous, actually with lots of breaks) so 80+ days spread, am now looking like...tadaa..


moment of truth, reveals a 33'inch waist line, weights still in qn marked looking for that scale, but the last time i checked had dropped from a 70kg to 66kgs in four weeks.. tummy one is gone... working on tummy two..cant waight to see how ill be by December.. my plan is stick STICKING TO THE PLAN! and enjoy while at it..


so if it hurts, slow down, if it does stop hurting, dont do it.... nhu, my quest for fitness still continous.. never felt better.. see all one needs is just to avail themselves, find time 45 mns at leaast nd get your feeding habits right, i have no diets but i eat the right stuff... avoid sodas and cakes etc.. but once in a while you indulge.. then get back on track..
its not easy, i wont lie to you but dnt do it because everyone is doing, u r your own motivation, otherwise when you slow down you might be tempted to quit.
ive quit like three times but come back, because there are no short cuts..

Monster Hill

Hey everyone, sorry for the late post! Anyway, first of all thank God am not dead because i was in an accident yesterday where a matatu/minivan/public transport minivan just reversed into me! almost lost my toes but i didn't and yes i continued with my journey. lol

So anyway been talking about THIS hill all over twitter and yes i finally took pictures. First, this hill will either kill me or KILL me! no seriously! like i said before, my mum has this jogging route which is in the slum/village behind my house and i decided to join her! Silly me.

Honestly, i HATE that hill. the only reason i go up is because it's the only thing separating me and my house. By the time i get up the hill, my heart's threatening to jump out my chest through my mouth, my thighs feel like am being pulled apart and my face burns like a mother****!! am i really that unfit??
And no, i dont feel great when i get to the top. i just want to get home and drink some water. i even forget my C25K when i see that hill.

It's a REVOLUTION!!

hey good people, Sally here, and sufffice to say @Sharzz06 and I did NOT think that we would get all this love and support on our quest to be healthier and we appreciate it and YES i LOOOVE everyone we have motivated to join us! we all need a little push in our lives and we are happy that we are the source of that and the more the merrier! all tapped out for the day!!

had agreat time working out today! i knw, am soo sure it is the positive energy and encouragement ive got from ol you beautiful people!! i did an 1hr20mns of both Taebo and a bit of 10 mns trainer. im hoping as the weeks go by im able to do more of the Abs work, maybe 40 situps a day.. will see..

am still looking for, not looking for, i havent lost nothing!, i meant saving for a nyc pair of exercise shoes and other gear....
u shuld see what i workout in. but i made a promise to myself that untill am disciplined enuf, i wouldnt buy any gear or anything expensive before i was sure enough this is what i was going to do! and from the look of things, and by things i mean, my butt, belly, arms, declining waistline, heavy beathing after a short walk, tired and moodless hormonal days and some disapering collarbones '' trust me the list is endless'' i HAD NO CHOICE!! but to get in shape!!

So as i sit on my mums bed and enjoy some telly, im glad i woke up one day, about 80 days, lets call it a while back, and decided am getting in shape.. now i need to know what my schedule will be,when i get back to office work.. will i wake up in the morning to work out or will i workout in the evening.. smthing to ponder, nhu, till then, things will sort themselves.. God will sort me out!

Its a Tae bo thing

gooooood afternoon!!!!woke up today feeling whipped, by the fluezies!! broke so i went to the internet to find my pal, Sally, had aleady done a marathon up and down a Hill despite the weather and her mum tagging along, which i hope was a greathing!!and said hey, today, we r going to kick sme butt!!

so whats my plan today?? STICK TO THE PLANN!! keep Tae bo nd 10 mns trainer, eat well, i hope, drink loads of water, pray to God to continue favouring me, healthwise and lifewise, thankfull.. and stick by what Sally is going propose for our endevour, she is my Masterplanner!!!

so wats Taebo? (no googling, i powmise) Tae bo is a combination of martial arts na dance steps, invented by instructor Billy Blanks (God bless him)!
its goes for about 45 minutes which includes cordination of kickboxing, boxing and taekwondo.. So Taebo= Taekwondo and Boxing..

so far, this cat has been on Taebo Circiut 2 for about 60 days and now on another Taebo: Fat blasting cardio which involves resistant bands, for muscles improvement. when i begun i wanted to feel good, just because i had nothing else going on, but with time, i started seeing as well as feeling sooo much great nd looking trim too..

to enjoy the benefits of tae bo, you MUST commit, and have the willingless to learn slowly by slowly gain the discipline needed to complete an hr long, of this thing called Taebo, as my pal Chira reffers to it..

you get leaner arms, great legs, your skin looks great, sweating for an hr is a great pore opener, FYI.. plus you get that "volleyballers butt" i can testify to that, the tummy goes to a stop and behaves!!! for real.. now it becomes ones turn to knw what works for them, thats why for the last three weeks, i took up the fat blasting cardio and incorporated, 10 mns trainer by torny horton..

nobody should tell you that ohh... its the genes, oohh, its doesnt work its just hype!! do your reseach and read sbout the success stories and you will see the difference when one takes up the responsibility to his her health. so decide nd get what you need to start..

am new to this too, so i avail myself to anything that will change my life to the better.
so, all you need is a 50bob that will change your life, for the better nd say good bye to everyday junkfood!!
oh, and someone to foot your electricity bill for 45mns.. lol..
no excuses, just do it!!

dear sally..

so Sally and Fatcat (me), have been in and out tryng to lose weight, so we decided, why not keep track of ourselves and blog about it... hhmmm..so here i am after a one day break, after a lean looking week of tae bo and butt kicking via a 10 minutes trainer, my stomach decides to bloat like a cow on some grass!! believe or not,  i feel and even look healthier than when i started, and i want to keep it that way, exercising for that last tummy is too hard, (on a realistic mode), but lately iv noted some improvements, little by little, ive lost my first pooch, now the lower one, i have a waist, my arms as sally says, have no "chickenwings", legs are looking much better, but thats doesnt mean av even begun!!! so, after a week of food poisoning and protein overload, and a flue, am thankful to God and keeping this pledge i made to myself, am not getting off this wagon, no matter how hard i get rocked! by the end of this week Going to upload one week progress before and after shots..
so the plan is:
tae bo: fat blasting cardio for 45mns and 10 mns trainer, abs!! monday to friday..
